The Kalisu Foundation, an NGO dedicated to enhancing education through libraries and playgrounds in government schools, celebrated the opening of its 100th library at Government Higher Primary School (HPS), Kumbarakoppal, Mysuru. The inauguration took place on Monday with Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar.

Wadiyar, the 27th titular Maharaja of the Mysore royal family and the Foundation’s ambassador used the occasion to share the parable of unity's strength with the students through the newly installed Smart TV in the library. “I am very happy that the 100th library has been inaugurated by Kalisu Foundation. It is very well done. I have been associated with Kalisu for 9 years and I have closely seen their work, which has greatly benefitted the school and impacted the students in a positive manner," Wadiyar stated.

During the event, Wadiyar engaged with the students, reflecting on his own school days and his favourite teacher and discussing quality education and tips for students. He described quality education as requiring high technology and skill development and advised students to focus on subjects they are passionate about.

Kalisu Foundation CEO M. Nikhilesh expressed his satisfaction with reaching this milestone, praising the support of team members, volunteers, teachers, and sponsors. He highlighted the positive impact the libraries have had on student reading skills and announced plans to expand the Foundation’s reach to more schools in Karnataka and beyond.

The newly opened library features a vibrant and colorful design, equipped with approximately 3,450 books across various genres and a Smart TV for interactive learning. The Kalisu Foundation, active in cities like Bengaluru, Ballari, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Delhi, remains committed to enhancing educational infrastructure in government schools.

Additional Deputy Commissioner P. Shivaraju, DDPI Javaregowda, and other notable guests were present at the inauguration.
